Sixth Grade Part-Time Teacher - 5 Days/Week, 5 hours/Day - Social Studies

INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL

This full time teacher is responsible for managing and providing whole group instruction to students. The teacher filling this position must be prepared to teach ELA, Bible and either Social Studies, Science, or Mathematics to sixth grade students. This individual will report directly to the building principal.

The following responsibilities would be required:

Effectively manage a classroom of approximately 26 students
Provide strong instruction to students in a 50-minute segments
Weave biblical truth into instruction
Possess and apply instructional practices that regularly engage students in the learning process
Develop positive relationships with students and families to best meet the needs of students
Effectively communicate progress of students with parents, teachers, and administration.
Effectively communicate with parents. Using newsletters, emails, and occasionally phone calls to best serve students and families
Work effectively with three other sixth grade teachers. Be willing to plan collectively, but execute lessons that reflect teaching style of individual teacher
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal

A bachelor’s degree is required. Indiana Teaching License is required. Previous teaching experience is a strong preference.
