Engineering Teacher (Background in Computer Science)
Description
Trinity Hall seeks a full-time engineering teacher with a background in computer science for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Successful candidates will have:
a bachelor’s degree at minimum (master’s degree preferred) in education and/or a related academic field (e.g., physics, math, engineering, computer science)
previous experience teaching (secondary and/or all-girls and Advanced Placement and/or college experience preferred).
experience with microcontrollers and single-board computers such as Arduino and programming languages such as Java and Python.
familiarity with advanced manufacturing technologies such as 3D printing and laser cutting.
comfortable with 3D parametric CAD platforms such as TinkerCAD and Onshape, and project-based learning (PBL) teaching methods.
commitment to the school’s mission and vision by participating fully in extracurricular and community activities regularly (including those sometimes beyond routine school hours).
desire to participate fully in the life of the school with expectations of, but not limited to: modeling behaviors that contribute to a positive and collaborative learning environment; cultivating positive partnerships with parents; participating in meetings, professional development courses; and updated and modifying curriculum guides.
excellent written and verbal communication skills.
good humor, flexibility, energy, creativity and patience to adapt to the daily needs of adolescent girls, as well as a passion for learning and ability to motivate students.
a commitment to collaborative and creative approach to instruction, with willingness to work with colleagues and students in a dynamic setting.
comfort and facility with subject-based and school-based technology (e.g., Google applications, school information systems / learning management systems, etc.).
